Korea and Japan Both Commemorate First Anniversary of the Late Park Yong-Ha's Passing
【June 29th= KEJ Koo Hye-Jin/Translation=Jeong Ji-Hyun】In both Korea and Japan, events are being held to honor the first anniversary of the late actor Park Yong-Ha’s passing. He was 32 years old when he passed away on June 30th, 2010.
On the 30th, the late Park Yong-Ha’s first anniversary memorial will be held at the Bundang Memorial Park in Gyeonggi-do, Seoul, where the deceased’s ashes are buried. Along with approximately 1,500 Japanese fans, the late actor’s mother and fellow actors will attend this ceremony. Also, Yakcheon Temple in Paju, Seoul, which houses the late actor’s mortuary tablet, will hold a Buddhist memorial service in the morning of the same day.
In Japan, the Cinemart Roppongi Theater in Tokyo will consecutively play “Park Yong-Ha: the Last Wish of a Beautiful Youth”, a documentary about the late actor’s charity work in Chad, and “The Scam”, which became his posthumous film. The Japanese actor Oouchi Atsuo(39), who worked with the late actor on the Japanese drama “Xmas Miracle” in 2009, will accompany the screening to discuss his memories of the late actor.
Furthermore, the film-concert “Park Yong-Ha Films 2004~2010 ☆We LOVE Yong Ha☆”, which began in March but was put on hold due to the earthquake, is back on the go in June. Showing video footage of the late actor’s performances during his lifetime, the concert will tour 9 Japanese cities at a total of 27 different stages until July 7th; approximately 25,000 Japanese fans are predicted to attend these venues.
In the coming September, a memorial exhibition titled “Park Yong-Ha Forever -My Most-Beloved Son” will be held in Japan in reminiscence of the late actor.
