Kara Wins Japanese Jewelry Best Dresser Award
【January 25 Tokyo=KEJ Miwa Takahashi / Translator Eunbee Kim】Girl group Kara was awarded the female special award at the 24th Annual Japanese Jewelry Best Dresser Awards upon arrival at the Tokyo Big Site on the 24th.
Kara’s win this year will mark a record four years in a row in which Korean Hallyu stars have won the award, following Lee Byung Heon in 2010, Won Bin in 2011, and Girls Generation last year.
Shining in this year’s awards, Kara’s Seungyeon was unfortunately absent, leaving the other four members to attend as a unit. The members arrived with unity as they were all dressed in stunning yellow dresses. Leader Gyuri said, “Despite being global stars, we still thank our fans in Japan tremendously for bestowing upon us such an esteemed award.”
Receiving their jewelry as special gifts, Kara said, “We put in much importance to our accessories as we do with our own outfits, and today we received many chic and beautiful gifts. We feel as if we can already see our better selves through them. Thanks to the unwavering support of our fans here in Japan, thank you for winning us this award.”
This awards ceremony also highlights the year’s most shining faces, faces that go the best with jewelry, and faces we want to see more of with jewelry in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Aside from girl group Kara, Japanese actresses Gouriki Ayame and Matsushima Nanako, along with London Olympic gold medalist Kohei Uchimura also attended the 24th Annual Jewelry Best Dressed Awards.
